COLIN HENWOOD

On Sunday 24th June 2012 over 300 customers, friends and family enjoyed an afternoon Tea Party at Henwood and Dean's boatyard in Hambleden to celebrate 30 years of boatbuilding and to launch our beautiful book about craftsmanship and boatbuilding.

The book, 'Head, Heart, Hand - a boatbuilder's story', was written by Colin Henwood and illustrated with superb photographs by Michael English.

Guests mingled and chatted whilst being plied with an assortment of tasty sandwiches and delectable cakes accompanied by tea, coffee, wines and local beer served by enthusiastic young waitresses. Outside in the yard Colin and Lucie's daughter Megan cooked sausages in her 1971 aluminium Airstream caravan for those who were still hungry! Entertainment was provided throughout the afternoon by foot-tapping jazz from The Dixie Ticklers, and guests lingered until well into the evening.

Colin gave a heartfelt speech about his 30 years at the helm of Henwood and Dean, and the launch of the book was a huge success.
