Henwood & Dean Boatbuilders exhibit at a number of prestigious events during the year in their beautiful exhibition space – an 18ft Mongolian yurt made from steam bent ash and natural cotton canvas. Around the walls of the tent hangs an impressive 22ft long panoramic photograph, printed onto canvas, showing our workforce busy in our Hambleden workshop.

From 5th to 7th June 2009 we will be at The Beale Park Thames Boat Show, Pangbourne on Thames.   This relaxed and informal show, situated on one of the most beautiful stretches of the River Thames, is a window on the very best of small boatbuilding and restoration in the country, with exhibitors attending from far and wide.

Last year at Beale Park we exhibited ‘Voltaire’ – a beautiful electric-powered punt built by Henwood and Dean and based on a classic Edwardian design.

This summer we will be taking along the 13’ electric launch ‘Polly’, which will be moored on the lake next to our stand.

‘Polly’ will be joined at Beale Park by Henwood & Dean’s own delightful little boat-tailed car ‘Sheila’ which will next be on display at the prestigious Henley Festival of Music & Art from 8th to 12th July, where she will be ferrying participating celebrities to and from their performances.

‘Sheila’ can again be seen at the Thames Traditional Boat Rally, Fawley Meadows, Henley-on-Thames, on 18th & 19th July 2009, where many of the boats that we have restored and built over the years will be on the river.

Henwood & Dean’s final public appearance in 2009 will be in the Autumn at one of the biggest one-day shows in the South of England.

We will be the only boatbuilder to exhibit at The Henley Show, on Saturday 12th September, and, as always, we would be delighted to welcome visitors to our yurt.
