Coming straight after Henley Regatta and held each year on the banks of the Thames, Henley Festival is an extraordinary and magical mix of music, visual arts, food, wine, street theatre and fireworks!
In 2011 and 2012 the Festival played host to the 50ft steam powered umpire’s launch Consuta which was moored up on the Festival site, ‘in steam’, with Colin Henwood at the helm!
Consuta has been completely restored by Henwood & Dean Boatbuilders and members of the Consuta Trust of which Colin is a Trustee. Festival goers had the chance to experience this unique and historical craft first hand and see the delights of the Festival from the river.
Henwood & Dean were also delighted to be exhibiting on ‘dry land’ in 2011 with Sheila, their 1924 Austin 12/4 and Gillian a Thames Traditional skiff built in 1908 and completely restored to its former glory by Colin in the 1990s.
