As part of the celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta, Thames Alive organised a spectacular River Relay which took place on the River Thames between Hurley and Runnymede over the weekend of June 13th & 14th.
The relay, led by the Royal Shallop 'Jubilant' and escorted by a flotilla of boats of all shapes and sizes, carried a facsimile of the Magna Carta downstream to Runnymede. A second flotilla escorting the Royal Barge 'Gloriana' followed on behind.
Over 200 boats were selected to join in this stunning river procession, and Colin and Lucie Henwoood were delighted that their skiff 'Gillian' was one of the boats chosen to take part.
