Held annually in July at Fawley Meadows, Henley-on-Thames, the Thames Traditional Boat Rally is a huge family weekend event showcasing the very finest traditional boats.
It is an opportunity for owners of traditional craft to meet each other as well as members of the public, and encourages them to cherish and restore their boats to all their former glory and hopefully win one of the various trophies and prizes awarded each year.
The first formal Rally was held in 1978, and since then the original aims have been met in full, with the number of traditional craft seen in daily use on the River Thames and elsewhere growing year by year. Some have been restored by highly skilled craftsmen in the Thames boatyards, and some are the result of long months of loving work by enthusiastic amateurs - many fine examples of both are to be seen at the Rally, on land and in the sail-pasts that take place over the weekend.
Henwood and Dean welcomes visitors to the Rally to come and see us in our yurt and view the boats that we have on display.
